I am originally from Turkey, studying industrial design engineering and industrial design, within the last 6 years. I am a passionate designer and dedicated researcher committed to creating culturally sensitive solutions that enhance the experience of the users.

Expertise Areas

User & Society

As a designer, my main goal is to create value and positive impacts on users' lives. To create this experience for users, I have studied courses like Design for Behavioral Change, Community Xperience Design, User Experience Theory and Practice, User-Centered Design, and lastly, Research Methods. With these courses, I have gained the awarness of psychology and sociology. I learned the importance of being sensitive and respectful to the user group (such as dementia patients, people who'd like to improve their well-being). I have learned to choose the right methods based on the project and user needs, and evaluate the concepts and improve them. I have learned that the users are should not just seen as a client but a person who may need help and design based on that, by understanding who they are first.

Technology & Realization

As much as working with technology is something I did not do often, I am aware the (possible) positive affects within the sector and our daily life. Even when I was not building the technologies, I always ensured to include the idea of it to the concepts. Besides exploring the Unity to create/add to the game design, Cocktail Shaker, within my latest project, I expanded my knowledge using open sources to understand how technology could be used to produce a straightforward but efficient design. Equipped with this fundamental understanding, I skillfully combined it with my interest of designing user interfaces. With this, I managed to create the technology to test and evaluate my design.

Creativity & Aesthetics

As a designer, my approach to achieving excellence in creativity and aesthetics is rooted in a commitment to breaking free from the conventional. I navigate the constant design process with creativity and curiosity, utilizing various techniques and constantly changing perspectives. I generate, select, and refine ideas, pushing the boundaries of what I and the target group know. My designs' physical and interactive materiality reflects a critical attitude towards aesthetic quality, where every form and interaction serves a purpose beyond mere visual appeal. Trusting my senses and striking a delicate balance between intuition and knowledge-driven design, I position myself within and draw inspiration from (art) historical or cultural benchmarks. Through iterative analyses and reflective design narratives, I strive to create works that transcend the ordinary, embodying the essence of good design for the sake of meaningful impact.

Math, Data & Computing

As a product designer mainly focusing on UX, most of the data I have collected and analyzed are qualitative data, and the projects' scope was non-technical. However, with the projects of Smart Mirror and the Nostalgic Notes, I have worked on coding and creating a chatbot on Boost.ai. With the percentage of possible right and wrong responses from the conversational user interface design, I have worked on adding more data to increase the percentage of correct responses. For the Nostalgic Notes, I have worked on Raspberry Pi to create the prototype, run the code I exported from the user interface design, and run it on Flask to control the website's design. This made me learn the basic knowledge of HTML, combine the designs, and connect them to Raspberry Pi.

Business & Entrepreneurship

During my projects, to understand the target group better, I work with value proposition canvases, do research, use trends, create familiarity and network when needed. While networking with the stakeholders or creating a connection with the target group, I make sure to respect the intellectual rights and the ethics and make decisions based on it. This was I ensure that I can create a meaningful product and service for the target group.
